Student Activities Fee Allocation Committee
SAFAC stands for the Student Activities Fee Allocation Committee. This committee is charged with the allocation of funds to actively chartered, registered student organizations and students in need of financial assistance for educational endeavors. SAFAC committee is chaired by the SGA Treasurer and comprised of Treasurers from each of the registered student organizations on campus. SAFAC meets twice monthly to discuss pending applications for SAFAC funding, SAFAC forums, or any other pending business pertinent to the committee.
Who is eligible for SAFAC funding?
Registered student organizations which:
• Are chartered and actively registered at Spelman College
• Newly chartered and registered student organizations are eligible for a maximum start-up amount of $250
• If chartered as an AUC organization, 40% of their membership must be Spelman students and have also requested funding from the other AUC schools
• Have demonstrated strong past efforts in fundraising
• Have established a Spelman depository account with the Spelman Business Office
• Have been present at the SAFAC Campus Information Meeting
